New Person

What is it with me?
I’m liking guys that aren’t my type
I’m having unfamiliar urges
My opinions have changed
Since last week
Am I a brand new person?
Well I don’t like this new person
I wish I could be the old Laura
Who valued character and talent
Above appearance and masculinity
I feel like someone else
Craving money, wanting to be fit
This isn’t me!
I don’t like this new person
I want my old self back!

Self-Reflection

If death’s cruel eyes stared me in the face, what would I do?  If I were under a table at Columbine, with a gun to my head, would I admit who I worshipped?
I don’t want to be faced with that decision, but I want to know the truth in my heart.  If I am a coward, I want to know.  But do I want to risk finding out?
